Artist profile setup guide by DigitalFrequenz-Records.

Successful artist profiles on the World Wide Web.

We are getting many artist registrations, but a lots are incomplete and buggy. If you want to setup an correct internet profile for your project, you need to look into the details!

For example:
If you have or create an Soundcloud account, make sure your settings are correct, so your music can be shared and played on other sites. Very important is your naming!!!
We have a lots of artists with very strange names, so any kind of computerized list will drop this names, because of cryptic characters.

Correct naming:
If your name is Digital don't name it °°D1g1t@l°° or something like it. This is impossible to sort on a list. If someone searches for your name at Google it will be impossible to find you that way.

At soundcloud you can also setup the final url link, so it looks like this for example: www.soundcloud.com/digitalfrequenz-records

The same issues are at Facebook, so if you want to have a proper presentation on facebook, DON'T USE YOUR PRIVATE PROFILE, use a so called FAN PAGE for Musician/Artists and again - give it a proper name and no funny fantasy characters. As soon you reach 25 likes you can setup a USERNAME at your facebook fan page and again - Facebook will create an url like: www.facebook.com/DigitalFrequenz-Records

Next thing is an simple and compact artist info/bio. Write down your story, how you became an artist and keep it short. It is not important to write down on what parties you went and how the deco was there...
Also link your other social networks, as the most pages are offering this already.

When you upload tracks on Soundcloud, take care for proper naming and spend attention to the tagging. Set the genre (only 1 will work proper per track!), link your youtube video, shop links and again - place your artist bio at soundcloud too.

If you take care for this details, you are proper setup and people can finally find you at search engines.

One more issue is the "aka" crap, as we call it. DJ XY aka DJ YZ aka DJ 123 will confuse anybody entering your presentation pages. Find a name and go for it! Forget the aka crap and focus on an identity.
