Artist info:
"Uyoyu" is a psy/ambient/dub project by Michel van Veen.
In 1986 he bought his first turntables, and started mixing and scratching hip hop and disco on school parties. In 1989 he discovered acid house on the famous amsterdam radio station 'radio 100'.
Always fascinated by electronic sounds, acid had an big impact on him. From then on he bought many house records and in 1992 he played on his first underground techno party at 'Multigroove' as Dj Mitch.
He played techno for a few years playing at several parties in Holland for organisations like Trancemissions, Radical Re-Housing and many others. In the mean time he had been collecting more ambient records, and when goa-trance was introduced in Holland in 1994, the chillout rooms where born.
That's when he started to play goa-trance and also play in chillouts for 'Circus Hoffman', Club Mazzo, Trance Buddha and underground parties at Silo and such. In the 90's he played on venues ranging from Holland to Belgium, Germany, France,Spain, South Africa. In the end of the 90's he bought his first synthesizer and started to produce electronic music. First starting producing downtempo under the name "Descarga Eléctrica" and changed name to what is now "Uyoyu".
